What are wild bees?

Wild and native bees are essential pollinators that play a crucial role in all ecosystems. At Pollinature, we strive to monitor and conserve these important creatures, and train others to identify and protect them. Our workshop is meant to educate participants about the value of wild pollinators and what you can do to help conserve and protect them.

How to identify them

Did you know there are over 900 bee species in Canada? Most of them nest in the ground or in cavities in wood (spoiler: most of them don't make honey). The workshop includes training on how to identify your local wild bees and gain a greater awareness of these essential, but underappreciated pollinators.

Support Native Pollinators

After discovering the fascinating world of bees, we encourage participants to take action in their own backyards to support pollinators. Additionally, we offer bee habitats for purchase, designed to benefit local bees no matter where you reside. Join us in making a positive impact on pollinators!
