Pollinature School Program
Our educational programs cater to all age groups. This engaging experience will educate students on the crucial role wild pollinators play in our ecosystems. Through interactive activities (held indoors or outdoors based on the season), participants will develop a greater appreciation for these vital creatures while discovering ways to support their habitats. Help us cultivate the next generation of pollination ecologists at your school!

High School/University Program

1
At your school, we install an ecologically-sound, wild bee nesting habitat, custom-designed by entomologists for the species native to your region. We also teach your students how to care for this habitat or provide yearly maintenance to ensure it remains safe for pollinators to nest in each year.

2
Did you know there are over 900 bee species in Canada? Most of them nest in the ground or in cavities in wood (spoiler: most of them don't make honey). The workshop includes training on how to identify your local wild bees and gain a greater awareness of these essential, but underappreciated pollinators.
3
Hatch & Release
If your school or program has a biology, environment or science department with access to a small laboratory or benchtop, we teach you how to safely remove your nests inhabitants, store them over winter, and identify and release them in the spring!

Kindergarten/Elementary School Program

1
At your school, we install an ecologically-sound, wild bee nesting habitat, custom-designed by entomologists for the species native to your region. For elementary schools, provide yearly maintenance to ensure it remains safe for pollinators to nest in each year.
2
For younger learners, this workshop is geared towards introducing students to the fascinating world of wild pollinators. We bring real preserved specimens into the classroom and depending on the season, we also bring some live wild pollinators!
(The ones that don't sting).
3
Pollinator Walk
During the workshop, we take the students on a walk close to school grounds to demonstrate that you can find wild pollinators all around, when you know where to look. We also include a a ist of flowers that would be great to plant near your new Pollinature habitat.
